About Temporary Ministries

Temporary Ministries exists to encourage people to live faithfully in what is temporary while keeping their focus on what is eternal.

Through speaking, writing, biblical encouragement, and practical ministry, we seek to help people follow Christ with clarity and purpose.

Our desire is to point people toward enduring truth, strengthen faith for everyday life, and encourage a faithful Christian presence in the places God has called them to serve.

Why “Temporary Ministries”?

The name Temporary Ministries has a deeply personal meaning for our family.

Our daughter Anna was wonderfully quirky, full of personality, and very much her own person. Six days before she died in January 2013 at the age of twenty-one, she had the Greek word for “temporary” permanently tattooed on her right forearm. It reflected the truth of 2 Corinthians 4:18: “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Anna wasn’t perfect—none of us are—but she was thinking seriously about her relationship with God. Earlier that month she wrote in her journal, “God, I think I’m going to get closer to you this year than I have ever been.”

She could not have known how quickly those words would take on eternal significance. That same month, Anna entered eternity with Jesus.

This life matters, but it is temporary. Eternity is not.

Temporary Ministries is rooted in that conviction. We want to encourage people to live faithfully in what is temporary while keeping their eyes fixed on what is eternal.

David & Deborah

David and Deborah Beauchamp have spent decades serving in ministry, military, church, family, and community settings. Their experiences have given them a particular desire to encourage others to remain faithful to Christ through the changing seasons of life.

David is a retired U.S. Army Chaplain (Colonel), pastor, author, speaker, and educator. His ministry has included pastoral leadership, military chaplaincy, special operations ministry, ministry to public servants, leadership development, biblical teaching, and cross-cultural ministry and teaching. Deborah brings her own experience in marriage, family, ministry, grief and loss, life transitions, and encouraging others through the realities of everyday life.
