Speaking Expectations

We are grateful for opportunities to serve churches, ministries, and organizations through speaking and teaching. To help with planning, here are a few practical expectations.

Travel
When travel is required, we ask the host organization to cover reasonable transportation expenses, including airfare or mileage, rental car or ground transportation when needed, and parking or related travel costs.

Lodging
When an overnight stay is necessary, we ask the host to provide or cover a comfortable hotel room.

Meals
We appreciate the host providing meals or reasonable meal expenses while we are traveling for the event.

Traveling Together
David and Deborah normally travel together, even when only one of them is speaking. We consider that part of how we serve and travel as a couple. When travel or lodging is required, we ask hosts to plan accordingly.

Honorarium
We do not want finances to prevent a ministry opportunity. If an honorarium is available, it is appreciated, but the amount can be discussed based on the event, travel involved, and the resources of the host organization.
